Warriors to kick off 2009 season


Staff report

The South Georgia Warriors will kick off their 2009 season on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Rickards High School in Tallahassee. The Warriors will take on the South Georgia Stars of Americus.

The defending champion Southeastern American Football League champion Warriors are coming off a 15-0 season.

Leading the Warriors is former Thomasville great Dion Graham, the quarterback. He is the heart of the offense and is the all-time Warriors pass leader and the reigning league MVP.

Former Thomasville star Antonio Ivey leads the receiving corps and Valdosta’s Anthony Hezekiah is the top rusher.

Defensively, the Warriors are led by Greg Clark of Thomasville and Thomas Brenton III of Bainbridge.
