Prime Time Reading Program

The Roddenbery Memorial Library will be starting a new program to encourage family reading during February and March.

Prime Time Family Reading Time will give local families with children ages six and up an opportunity to discuss children's stories about topics such as dreams, determination and destiny.  The program will be held on Mondays at 6 p.m. through March 10.

The Grady County History Scrapbook Competition is being conducted by the Historical Society for high school and middle school students who live in Grady County.

The scrapbooks must contain information about life in Grady County including its history, farming evolution, church and school impact and other aspects of life in the community.

The scrapbooks must be presented the the Grady County Historical Society Museum by March 20 for judging and the winners will be announced at the Historical Society's meeting on April 8.

A $100 cash prize will be presented to the high school winner and a $50 cash prize for the middle school winner with cash awards also given to the second place winners.

Taste of of the Town fundraiser

The Grady General Support League will have their second annual Taste of the Town fundraiser on Saturday, March 8 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Grady Cultural Center in Cairo.

The fundraiser is to purchase a state of the art microscope for use in the lab at Grady General Hospital.

The Taste of the Town will showcase the unique culinary options in and around Grady County with traditional restaurant vendors, as well as some of the best at-home chefs.

Pine Forest Baptist plans sing

Jackie Hill and the Blue Shades of Grass will be featured in a sing at the Pine Forest Baptist Church on Sunday at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy some great bluegrass gospel music.
