— Library friends meet Thursday

The Friends of the Roddenbery Memorial Library will be having their annual meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

There will be a social hour from 6:30 to 7:30,with the meeting starting at 7:30.

Come and learn all about the friends and tour all of the many parts of the library.

The Grady County History Scrapbook Competition is being conducted by the Historical Society for high school and middle school students who live in Grady County.

The scrapbooks must contain information about life in Grady County including its history, farming evolution, church and school impact and other aspects of life in the community.

The scrapbooks must be presented the the Grady County Historical Society Museum by March 20 for judging and the winners will be announced at the Historical Society's meeting on April 8.  A $100 cash prize will be presented to the high school winner and a $50 cash prize for the middle school winner with cash awards also given to the second-place winners.

Recovery group to meet Feb. 4

GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close to them, will be meeting on Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Faith Christian Center starting on Feb. 4.

The seminar is lead by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during your difficult time.

Hospice featured at program

Magnolia Place invites everyone to attend a Lunch and Learn program presented by Bethany Hospice on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from noon to 1 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Cynthia Diamond of Bethany Hospice, who will share the facts and myths about hospice and what hospice can do for your loved one.  A light lunch will be served free of charge.
