Whigham Boy Scout Troop No. 383 will have its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Cairo Country Club on Saturday. The 4-man scramble will start at 11 a.m. and a meal will be served at the end of the tournament. All proceeds will stay with the local troop and venture crew. The Grady County Schools will be having an auction of surplus items on Saturday at South School. There will be a preview at 9 a.m. and the auction will begin at 10 a.m. Many items will be sold including kitchen equipment, audio/visual equipment, classroom items and vehicles. Christ Church Cairo, formerly The Summit Baptist Church, invites everyone to attend a special seminar on the study of Revelations to be held on Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at First Assembly of God on 12th Avenue, NE in Cairo. Dr. Thomas Slater, professor of New Testament Language and Literature at the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University, will be leading the seminar. Slater is one of the nation's foremost authorities on Revelations and is an ordained elder in the Georgia North Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
