The next meeting of the Grady County Alzheimer/Dementia Support Group will be held on March 11 at 6 p.m. in the conference room of Grady General Hospital.  The speaker will be Cynthia Harper Diamond with Bethany Hospice.  come learn the facts and myths about hospice and fine answers to your questions.

Golf tourney

Whigham Boy Scout Troop No. 383 will have its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Cairo Country Club on Saturday.  The 4-man scramble will start at 11 a.m. and a meal will be served at the end of the tournament. All proceeds will stay with the local troop and venture crew. Entry forms can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo or by calling Travis Shepherd at 224-7859.

Surplus auction

The Grady County Schools will be having an auction of surplus items on Saturday at South School. There will be a preview at 9 a.m. and the auction will begin at 10 a.m.  Many items will be sold including kitchen equipment, audio/visual equipment, classroom items and vehicles. The terms are cash and check with a letter of credit from bank.  For more information, call Sally Brock at 224-0459.


The Whigham Class of 1974 will be having its 40th reunion later this year.  If you are a member of the Class of '74 and would like to attend, all Curt Vanlandingham at 762-1994 or Teresa Groves at 762-1665.

Bible seminar

Christ Church Cairo, formerly The Summit Baptist Church, invites everyone to attend a special seminar on the study of Revelations to be held on Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at First Assembly of God on 12th Avenue, NE in Cairo. Dr. Thomas Slater, professor of New Testament Language and Literature at the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University, will be leading the seminar. Slater is one of the nation's foremost authorities on Revelations and is an ordained elder in the Georgia North Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
