— Bible training

New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church is holding Baptist Training Union at 10 a.m.   Jan. 18. Bible study is every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Sunday school is every Sunday at 9 a.m. except for the fifth Sunday.


The annual city-countywide fellowship program is at 3 p.m.  Sunday at St. Mark AME Church. The speaker is the Rev. Lonnie Robinson.


Willow Head M.B. Church is celebrating 100 years with a pre-centennial service at 3 p.m.  Sunday. The Rev. Silas Brinson is the speaker. The celebration continues at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26 with Kingdom Harvest Fellowship and Pastor Randall Hines in charge of service.


The fourth annual MLK Humanitarian Two-Mile Walk is at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 18. It will begin at 1002 N. Broad St. Visit for online registration and details.


Riders for Christ Cowboy Church, 1294 Union Hill Rd., Cairo, is holding services at 7 p.m., Tuesday with Joyce Igo speaking.

Dining event

St. Augustine Catholic Church is holding a Dining Around the World from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the parish hall, 211 N. Pinetree Blvd. Sample the cuisine from many cultures.

Tickets cost $9 in advance and $10 at the door.
