Hadley C.M.E Church, 922 Stewart Rd., is holding its annual Gala Celebration on Saturday Nov. 16, at 4 p.m. Elder Maurice Miller is the speaker. Refreshments will be served.

Missionary program

The Missionary Department of Silver Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Coolidge, is holding its annual Missionary Day at 3 p.m., on Saturday. The speaker is Arleatha Dunbar of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Refreshments will be served.


Richland Missionary Baptist Church, Five Forks Road in Boston is celebrating its choir’s 37th anniversary at 6 p.m., Saturday. At 6 p.m., on Sunday, the church is holding its second Sunday sing.


Bellview AME Church, 1802 Lower Boston Rd., is hosting the city and county-wide fellowship service at 3 p.m., Sunday. St. Mark AME Church is in charge of the service and dinner is to follow.


New Generation Christian Center is holding its annual Harvest Festival Sunday through Nov. 17.

It begins at 9:30 a.m., Sunday with Pastor Charles Moore and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in charge. A 3 p.m. service follows with the Rev. Harvey Virgil and Vision of Hope in charge.

Services continue at 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday with various churches in charge. It concludes at 3 p.m., Nov. 17 with Pastor Lionel Leonard and House of Comfort and Refuge in charge.


New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church is concluding its 146th anniversary celebration at 11:30 a.m., Sunday. The guest church is Liberty Baptist Church of Quitman and guest minister is Prophetess Norma Brooks. Sunday school begins at 10.

Family, friends

Trinity CME Church is celebrating family and friends day at 3 p.m., Sunday. The speaker is the Rev. Michael Burns.


A Four Gospel Writer’s program is at 5 p.m., Saturday. The speakers include Bishop Joe Burns, Elder Priscilla Maxwell, Deacon Jeremiah Arrington and Pastor Cleo Burns.
