— Observance

The Mt. Pilgrim M. B. Church will observe Black History month today at 11:15 a.m.  The guest minister is the Rev. Octavius Bryant of Albany.


The Rev. Andrew E. Jones will be installed as the 23rd pastor of Rebecca

Missionary Baptist Church, 970 Hill Rd., at 3 p.m., Sunday.

He is the younger of two children born to the late Deacon James Justice Jones and Deaconess Martha Jones of Thomasville. He has one sister, Genene Jones and a daughter, Andreya Jones-Kyle.

A Thomasville High School graduate, he was ordained as a minister at First Missionary Baptist Church in January, 2012.

He teaches NJROTC at Cairo High School, active member of CHS Fellowship Christian Athletes, is the youth and outreach minister at First Missionary Baptist Church, member of Thomas-Grady Service Center Rights Committee and a spiritual advisor at Thomas University for Goldline Ministries. He is a member of American Association of Christian Counselors and Professional Association  of Georgia Educators.


Pleasant Hill CME Church in Beachton presents the Twelve Tribes of Israel at 4 p.m., today.


Cedar Hill M.B. Church in Boston is celebrating its annual black history program at 11:30 a.m., today. The speaker is the Rev. Tommy Hill.

Students sought
