THOMASVILLE — Celebration

The Thomasville Unit of Church Women United in Georgia is holding a World Day of Prayer celebration at noon, Friday, March 7 at Second Presbyterian Church. The theme is Streams in the Desert. The Rev. Chevatta Carter  is the speaker.


Family and Friends Church is holding a Four Gospel Writers program at 7 p.m., today. Speakers are the Rev. Antonio Arrington Sr., the Rev. Tony Brown, Pastor Terry Scott and Paster Roscoe Smith.


The Rev. Cecil Strawder  is the guest speaker at 11 a.m., Sunday at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church.


Bethany Congregational United Church of Christ is celebrating its 123rd Founder’s Day at 3 p.m., Sunday. Bethlehem AME Church and the Rev. Dr. Debra Knight are the guests. A meal follows the service.


Prophet Jermaine Andrews is the speaker and The Anointed Voices will perform at 6 p.m., Saturday at Word to the World Ministries, 1425 E. Jackson St.


New Hope M.B. Church in Boston is celebrating its 129th anniversary at 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 9. In charge on Tuesday is Centennial M.B. Church, Wednesday is St. Luke AME Church, Thursday is Simmon Hill M.B. Church and Sunday is Clifford Temple CME Church. Dinner will be served.


Faith Temple Church, 231 Legion Blvd., is holding March Madness Revival at 7 p.m.,  March 14-15 and 11 a.m., March 16. The evangelist will be Pastor Kevin Williams, True Praise Family Worship Center, Miami Fla.

Yard sale

Antioch Baptist Church, of Pavo, is holding a yard sale on Saturday to support its missions program. The church is located at 1873 Hartsmill Road, Pavo and the doors will open at 7 a.m. There will be children, men and women’s clothing including plus sizes. The also have shoes, purses , toys, movies, dishes, bedding, Christmas items and much, much more.
