New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 701 Campbell St., is holding Baptist training union on Saturday.

Coats, blankets

Life, Power and Praise Apostolic Faith Church is holding a coat and blanket give-a-way at 9 a.m., Saturday at Marguerite Neel Williams Boys and Girls Club. Donations are welcome and will pick up.


Daughter of Zion Bible Center Ministry is holding a youth service at 4 p.m., Sunday. There will be hot dog, chips and drinks.

At 5 p.m., Dec. 21, the Christmas celebration continues. The speakers are co-pastor Philly William, Evangelist Betty Peterson and Prophetess Krystal Smith. The colors are red and green.

Special event

The Stewardesses of Clifford Temple CME Church are holding their annual candlelight service at 7 p.m., Sunday. The theme is Lord of the Manger. Members from various Thomasville churches will be readers, soloists and choir members.


Glasgow AME Church is holding its annual Christmas celebration at 11 a.m., Sunday. The speaker is Elder Esau Jones, pastor of New Zion Church of God in Unity in Boston, and dinner follows.

Trial sermon

Ladarius Gammage is giving his trial sermon at 11 a.m., Sunday at Centennial M.B. Church.


Immanuel Temple COGIC is holding a musical festival at 4 p.m., Sunday featuring Pastor Rosyln Copeland, the Chosen Ones and the Waller Family.


The Rev. Curnell Henry, pastor of Shiloh M.B. Church of Thomasville, is the guest minister at  Paradise Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., worship service is at 11 and a Christmas program follows the morning service.


Members  of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Metcalfe are celebrating their pastor’s, the Rev. Estell Arrington, 11th anniversary at 11 a.m., Sunday. The speaker is the Rev. Roscoe Smith.


Clifford Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is celebrating its 106th anniversary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Dec. 20.

In charge each night are on Wednesday, Clifford Temple Church with the Rev. Anthony Robinson, Thursday is Unity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Ross and Dec. 20 is Mercy Seat Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Leon Jones.
