Scholars Academy to receive new roof

Teresa Williams

“There was some damage to carpet and computers, but it did not impact our ability to use the building,” she said.

Dr. Dale Graham, academy director, said the school is very excited about the project.

“We’ve had a leaking problem for a while, but it is only when we have a very heavy rain. We have about four serious problem areas where we spread tarps over the computers and move the furniture. It is great news that we are getting it repaired now.”

The project is expected to start within 30 days — as soon as materials arrive — and take up to 60 days to complete.

Kornegay said the system will replace damaged ceiling tiles inside the building once the roof is finished.
