Thomasville native judicial candidate in DeKalb County

By Mark Lastinger

Barrie is a compelling speaker. She developed her skills in the 4-H Club and the Thomasville Music and Drama Troupe.

“Talking and convincing people are my strengths,” she said.

Barrie will spend the next few months trying to persuade DeKalb County voters to give her a chance to realize of her goal of starting a domestic violence court. The election is on Nov. 4.

“I want to fight repeat patterns of abuse with counseling access. I want to do that because of what I see everyday,” she said. “I’m willing to fight for it because I see the need. It would have a great impact.”

Barrie hopes to have an impact well beyond the boundaries of DeKalb County before her career is finished.

“I’m aiming high,” she said. “Wouldn’t it be great to have a Supreme Court justice from Thomasville?”
