Air search launched for missing woman

Patti Dozier

THOMASVILLE — A woman on a two-week vacation from her job at the Bainbridge post office is the subject of a Grady County search that began Tuesday.

Lawmen searched for Priscilla Brock by air Wednesday.

“We have searched this county all over and have not seen her,” Grady County Sheriff Harry Young told the Times-Enterprise late Wednesday afternoon.

A Georgia State Patrol helicopter took Young and others on an aerial search Wednesday afternoon. A private plane also was looking for Brock and her vehicle, a light-blue 1991 Lincoln Town Car.

The 68-year-old woman left her Peebles Still Road home at 3 a.m. Tuesday. A neighbor saw Brock leave and followed her to Pleasant Grove Road to be sure she was OK. Young said Brock has a friend who lives on Pleasant Grove.

Brock was described as white, 5-foot-11 and weighing 175 pounds. She has hazel eyes and gray hair.

Possible license plate numbers on the Lincoln are BDV 6444 or BQ 52JH. Both are Grady County tags.

The sheriff does not suspect foul play.

The missing woman, who took her wallet and a bag, left her house unlocked. She took her daughter’s dog with her, but left her chow at her home off Ga. 112 North.

Young said that according to the daughter, her mother would never leave the chow unattended.

An off-duty police officer spotted a vehicle Wednesday afternoon that fit the description of the vehicle Brock was driving when she left home. A gray-haired woman was driving the car in North Grady County, Young said.

The sheriff said the search party would head north into Mitchell County.

Anyone with information about Brock is asked to call 911 or the Grady County Sheriff’s Office at 377-5200.
