South Georgia Ballet and Harveys Supermarkets present Beauty and the Beast in four performances beginning Friday May 29 at the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium A special abbreviated group matinee is at 10:15 a.m., Friday, May 29 for children's and senior citizens' groups. An abbreviated performance is planned Friday night at 7 featuring the youngest dancers from South Georgia Performing Arts as well as company dancers from South Georgia Ballet. Full length performances are set for 7 p.m., Saturday, May 30 and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 31 which will include a tap and jazz revue, The Audition, in addition to the ballet. The Meigs Country Hoedown is every Friday in the Meigs Community Building across from the post office. Gospel singing starts at 7:30 p.m. and ine dancing is from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a variety of bands and singers. Soft drinks, coffee and snacks are available; no smoking or alcoholic beverages.
