THOMASVILLE — A man Thomas County authorities issued an alert for in April has been arrested in Florida.
Charles C. Munn, 49, 454 Island Drive, Douglas, is charged with seven counts of deposit account fraud. He was released from the Thomas County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
“He was wanted by us and Lowndes County for worthless checks,” said Lt. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office chief investigator.
Munn also has been charged with bad checks in Lowndes County, where he was released on bond prior to facing charges here.
Munn was arrested in Volusia County, Fla., where he was working as an engineer.
Watkins said Wednesday that to date, Munn has written about $6,500 worth of bad checks in Thomas County. The checks were written on a closed account at a Douglas bank.
The suspect’s Thomasville purchases have included upscale clothing, a $1,400 flat-screen television and fishing supplies, among other items.
Munn visited Thomasville in December 2008 and during the 2009 Easter weekend.
