6:30 p.m. — The Thomasville Orchid Society will host its first guest speaker at the home of Jimmy NeSmith on Dillon Road. Tony Bailey of Sumner is to discuss all aspects of orchid growing including propagation, growth patterns, and foliage. He has two large greenhouses housing 625 orchids and will present a slide show of some of his plants. Guests are welcome to attend. For more information call Pam at 227-5778.

7:30 p.m. — Aucilla Chapter No. 1 Order of the Eastern Star meets at Aucilla Missionary Baptist Church. For information, call 228-1455.
Wednesday
11:30 a.m. — The United Way of Thomas County is holding its annual campaign kickoff at the Plaza Restaurant. The speaker is former Florida State University fullback William Floyd. He helped the Seminoles win a national championship in 1993 and went on to play with San Francisco 49ers for four years and won a Super Bowl. He spent his last three years playing for the Carolina Panthers. Note that the luncheon time has been changed. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 228-0560.
11:30 a.m. — There will be a luncheon meeting at the Plaza for all past students and teachers of Ochlocknee Consolidated School, their families and friends.
Thursday
10 a.m. — Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at Dawson Street Baptist Church.
12:30 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.
