Anti-narcotics agents arrest three suspects at gas stations

Patti Dozier

THOMASVILLE — A vehicle narcotics agents had under surveillance at gasoline pumps Thursday afternoon contained a quantity of marijuana. So did the driver.

Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents were watching when the white car driven by Antonio Demetrius Williams, 24, of 1854 Sanford Road, pulled up to gasoline pumps at a business in the 600 block of North Boulevard.

A passenger, Dusty Davis, 24, of 119 Crystal St., got out of the car.

“As we approached, he saw us and got back in the vehicle. They attempted to leave,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice commander.

In plain view in the car console was a bag of marijuana and a set of hand scales, Lee explained.

On the floor of the car, agents found three plastic wraps of marijuana that appeared to by grown hydroponically.

“We also searched Williams after he was arrested,” the commander said. “We found a single bag of marijuana, about one-half ounce, and 11 red zip-type bags of marijuana done for individual sales on his person.”

Williams and Davis were charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute and marijuana possession within 1,000 feet of a park.

Lee said both suspects have been arrested in other drug cases.

Another marijuana case unfolded in Meigs on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip that Michael Peter Boden, 20, of 99 NBC Lane, Meigs, was possibly growing marijuana, narcotics agents went to the suspect’s residence.

“When we walked back to Boden’s room, we observed marijuana in plain view floating in water in a bathroom sink, the toilet and bathtub,” Lee said.

The contraband was green and appeared to have been harvested recently. Lee said it appeared Boden was trying to destroy the drug.

One-half pound of pot was seized at Borden’s residence.

“He claimed it all,” Lee said, adding that several other people were at the Boden residence when officers arrived.
