Pelham’s very own Cotton Boll Express opens the Pelham Country Jamboree at 5 p.m., Saturday, followed by Chrystal Thomas, Lala Lehmann, John Rich, Betty Stroud and the Cotton Boll Express closes the show at 9. Word-Doers of Thomasville is holding its annual free Thanksgiving lunch from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 27 at Thomasville High School cafeteria.

Trains exhibit
Continuing through Jan. 10 at the Museum of History, Trains! Trains! Trains! celebrates railroads with artwork, exhibits and a detailed working model train installed by the Central Georgia Model Railroad Club. Additional exhibits include a how to do it module for those who wish to learn more about the hobby and a special holiday exhibit with a train circling a Christmas tree. Bring the children. Competition
Choirs may participate in a competition with other area choirs at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6 in Boston in Watt Park. The overall winner will receive $250 plus a trophy. Each choir will chose from three categories children; youth; adult or they can compete in all categories. Each choir will be given 15 minutes for each category they chose. A sound system will be provided. Registration is required and the entry fee consists of one non-perishable food item per choir member. The food will be distributed to the needy during Christmas.
