SunTrust opens new branch
Staff report
SunTrust Bank officials announced on Monday the opening of its new Thomasville branch located at 14 Williamsburg Ave. It consolidates SunTrust's three previous branches in the area into one new location.
The new, full-service branch offers standard banking services, investment services, private wealth management, commercial banking, and mortgage financing, as well as the convenience of a four-lane drive-thru and drive-up ATM. The 4,000-square foot facility also features state-of-the-art technology, including fiber-optic visual and audio systems in the drive-through, fingerprint safe box entry and digital merchandising.
“Our goal is to make it fast, easy and simple for our clients to do their banking business with SunTrust,” said Craig Dowdy, branch president. “This new branch — with its extended hours, larger space, more central location, and added conveniences — enhances our ability to meet the changing needs of our clients.”
Craig will oversee a team of 13 employees. The branch hours are:
Drive-through: Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday: 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Lobby: Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Friday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
A ribbon cutting with the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce will occur at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 followed by grand opening festivities through out the day.
SunTrust has registered the project with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and will be applying for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certification. In addition to using environmentally sensitive and recycled construction materials, the building contains high efficiency lighting and air conditioning systems and uses less water with the utilization of low-flow plumbing fixtures and hand sensors.
The LEEDŽ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
