8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — St. Augustine Council of Catholic Women will hold a giant rummage sale at 211 N. Pinetree Blvd. There will be clothing, appliances, furniture, electronics, household items and antiques are all on sale. Proceeds benefit local charitable organizations.

11 a.m. — Members of Douglass High School class of 1970 will meet at the Thomas County Public Library. For information, call Tina Shannon at (229) 379-1875 or Debra Bryant at 228-7009.

11:30 a.m. — Halcyon Home is holding a kickoff rally for Domestic Violence Awareness Month at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. At 6:30 p.m., Oct. 18, is a silent march followed by a candlelight vigil also at St. Thomas.


11:45 a.m. — Southwestern State Hospital retirees will holding their monthly luncheon at O’Neal’s Country Buffet. For information, call 226-6745.

5:30 p.m. — Ochlocknee City Council is holding its monthly meeting at Ochlocknee City Hall.

5:30 p.m. — The Thomas County Chapter  of Georgia State Retirees Association is holding its monthly meeting at the Thomas County Public Library.


10:30 a.m. — The National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at the Thomas County Public Library.  The guest speaker is Debra Beeson of the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center.

Noon — The United Way of Thomas County Campaign Kickoff Luncheon is at the Plaza Restaurant. Former NFL Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals and University of Georgia kicker Kevin Butler is the speaker. To make a reservation, call 228-0560 by noon, Monday.

6 p.m. — Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Guild Room. There are no dues or fees and is open to men and women. For information, call 226-0556 or 377-4995.


10 a.m. — Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at Dawson Street Baptist Church.

12:30 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

6 p.m. — Cairo New Beginnings Group of Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 11th Ave. N.W., Cairo. For information, call Aileen at 378-0341 or Brenda at 377-4995.
