THOMASVILLE — Today

12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.

Sunday

2 p.m. — Students from the piano class of Ann Gainey will be presented in a recital in the chapel of First United Methodist Church and again at 3:30 p.m., at the Suites of Woodleaf. The events are open to the public.

Tuesday

6 p.m. — Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Guild Room. There are no dues or fees and is open to men and women. For information, call 226-0556 or 377-4995.

Wednesday

The Thomasville Chapter NSDAR meets at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 21 at  the Plaza Restaurant.  The program will be presented by Dr G. Kurt Piehler, director, Institute World War II and the human experience.

Thursday

10 a.m. — Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at Dawson Street Baptist Church.

12:15 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

The Thomasville-Thomas County Retired Educators Association regular monthly meeting is at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 22 at the Thomas County Public Library. This is the last meeting before adjourning for summer. The Dream Dimes Bottles will be awarded to local charities. Camp Arrow and Florida State Emergency Management officials will present the programs. The president will make presentations to people who have given special service to the organization. Group VI is responsible for refreshments and the door prize.

5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

6 p.m. — Cairo New Beginnings Group of Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 11th Ave. N.W., Cairo. For information, call 378-0341 or 377-4995.

Miscellaneous

Thomasville Music & Drama Troupe presents its annual Diner a la Troupe fundraising gala at Chinquapin Plantation, 941 Kauka Lane on Sept. 13. A new divorced and separated support group meets at Cairo Presbyterian Church, 100 4th Ave. SE, at 7 p.m., Tuesdays. For information, call Richard Hartsfield at 229-328-0906. The only requirement for participation is that you be divorced and/or separated.
