THOMASVILLE — Tuesday

6 p.m. — Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Guild Room. There are no dues or fees and is open to men and women. For information, call 226-0556 or 377-4995.

Wednesday

11:45 a.m. — Thomasville Chapter NSDAR meets at the Plaza Restaurant.  The program Love Letters will be presented by Theresa Brown.

2 p.m. — Southern Pines Senior Living Community is holding a Caring Together conversation series. It is a free educational series for families, friends and those who serve people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. The first one is about living with memory challenges, abilities based care. On Feb. 26, find the connection, positive communication and  on March 5, successfully supporting loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. Thursday

10 a.m. — Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at Dawson Street Baptist Church.

12:15 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

6 p.m. — Cairo New Beginnings Group of Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 11th Ave. N.W., Cairo. For information, call Aileen at 378-0341 or Brenda at 377-4995.

Friday

12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.

Miscellaneous

The Thomasville-Thomas County Retired Educators Association meets at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Thomas County Public Library in the Flipper Room. The speaker is District 3 Director David Ronn from Valdosta. All members are urged to attend and bring a retired educator as the membership drive continues. If you have not renewed your dues, see Cora DeMott or Charlie Ward. Members should bring dimes for Dream Dimes Bottles. Group IV will provide refresments and the door prize.

A new divorced and separated support group meets at Cairo Presbyterian Church, 100 4th Ave. SE, at 7 p.m., Tuesdays. For information, call Richard Hartsfield at 229-328-0906. The only requirement for participation is that you be divorced and/or separated.

The Rose City Coin Club meets the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Thomas County Public Library.

The Rose City Symphonic Band rehearses from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturdays at the Thomas County Middle School band room. Membership is open to any musician 16 and older that plays a band instrument.  No audition required. The Christian Writers group meets at 6 p.m., the first and third Tuesday of each month at Dawson Street United Methodist Church, 1132 N. Dawson St. For information, call 226-3013.

Weight Watchers meets at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Thursdays and at 8 a.m., Saturdays at 94 Commercial Drive. Weigh-in starts 30 minutes before each meeting.

A support group called MOMS for Mothers of Military Servicemen/Women meets at 9:30 a.m., the second Saturday of every month at Relish. For information, call 228-4553.

The South Georgia Genealogical Society meets at 10:30 a.m., the second Saturday of each month at the Thomas County Public Library. For information, call Cheryl Wilson at 226-2714 or Vera Hagan-Mitchell at 551-9627.

The Thomas County branch of NAACP holds its monthly meetings at 6 p.m., on the second Thursday of each month at the Frederick Douglass Complex.

Members of the Thomas County Democratic Party meet at 6:30 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month at Fallin's.

Families Anonymous meetings are at 7 p.m., each Monday at the Milton-Everett YMCA board of directors room. For information, call 224-0230.

The Thomasville Multiple Sclerosis self-help group meets at 6 p.m., the third Tuesday of every month at the Plaza. The meeting is to bring area people together to discuss their issues in coping with the disease and the organization. Family members and caregivers can attend. The Country Hoedown, formerly known as The Meigs Country Hoedown, is at the corner of Sapp and Burnum (Mt. Olive Road), in Pelham every Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. There is live country music for line and couple dancing with no door charge but donations are welcome. Thomasville Masonic Lodge No. 369 meets on second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Plantation Manor Assisted Living Community seeks volunteers of all ages for its Gracious Living (Alzheimer's/dementia) wing. The volunteers will assist with the activities program. For information call Gail Davis or Betty Sawyer at 227-0880.

The Thomasville Noon Lions Club meets at noon the second and fourth Tuesdays at the Plaza.

VFW Post 4995 and its auxiliary meet every third Saturday at 9 a.m. at the post home at 1296 Old Cassidy Rd.

VFW Post 8433 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Roddenbery Memorial Library Annex in Cairo.

Hands and Hearts for Horses, a therapeutic riding program for children and adults with disabilities, is in need of volunteers. Volunteer training classes are held the first Monday of every month. For information, call Kirsten at 551-0086.

The Pilot Club holds a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m., the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Plaza.

Thomasville Lodge 369 F&AM, 310 N. Pine Tree Blvd., meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month. For information call 228-7427 or 403-9147.

The James Hicks American Legion Post No. 519 members and auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday at the American Legion home on Hopkins Street. The executive committee meets at 7 p.m. the Tuesday preceding the monthly meeting.

The VFW Post No. 11088 members and auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the senior center on Stevens Street.

Halcyon Home provides outreach support groups for victims of domestic violence. For information, call 226-6666.

S.P. Jones Lodge No. 118 F&AM PHA meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. at 518 Lester St.
