THOMASVILLE — Today

12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.

Saturday

10:30 a.m. — The South Georgia Genealogy Society meets in the Flipper Room of the Thomas County Public Library in Thomasville on Saturday, Sept. 14. The program, Finding your U.S. military veterans — A Webinar program, follows at 11. The coordinator is Mary Anne Dolen.

1 to 3 p.m. — Come celebrate National Assisted Living Week with Southern Pines at its open house. Drop by for a tour, refreshments and door prizes.

Tuesday

5:30 p.m. — If you are at least 9 years old and would like to be a member of Thomas County 4-H Program come to the County-Wide 4-H club, “Mix It Up”  meeting at the Thomas County Extension Office at 227 W. Jefferson. If you attend one of the city schools or private schools or if you are home-schooled this is your opportunity to participate in 4-H!  At this meeting, you will learn about what Thomas County 4-H has to offer and you will be able to join at this time.  For information, contact Cindy Wynn at 225-4130.

6 p.m. — Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in the Guild Room. There are no dues or fees and is open to men and women. For information, call 226-0556 or 377-4995.

Thursday

10 a.m. — Golden K Kiwanis Club meets at Dawson Street Baptist Church.

12:30 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

6 p.m. — Cairo New Beginnings Group of Overeaters Anonymous meets at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 11th Ave. N.W., Cairo. For information, call Aileen at 378-0341 or Brenda at 377-4995.

6 p.m. — Central High School of 1979 is holding a class reunion meeting at the Thomas County Board of Educaton Professional Learning Center. The committee needs volunteers to assist with planning and managing reunion plans. The 35-year reunion is planned for next June. For information, call Olie A. Burkes at 379-1643, Rosa Harris Williams 377-7554 or Olivia Blount at 403-1943. If you have kept in contact with other classmates, send us their contact information or pass along the information to them. This meeting is finalize the details including the date, location and ticket price.
