Agnes Everlena Lawyer Hester Ward

— Agnes Everlena Lawyer Hester Ward was born to the union of the late Moses and Everlena Lawyer on April 12, 1920 in Lakeland, FL.  At two weeks old, Agnes was born in heart of the late Hattie Hester (Mama Hattie) after the death of her mother.  She was educated at the Sinkola Plantation School in Beachton, GA; where she was known for her basketball skills and abilities.  She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Alvie Ward, Sr. on October 22, 1938.  Size children were born to this union.  Agnes Ward was a member of Mt. Zion P.B. Church, where she served on the Usher Board and chair of the Mothers Board.  She also served as an advisor to the Junior Usher Board and served faithfully until her death.  Throughout the years, she received much joy caring for many children throughout the Thomas County area.  Mother Agnes Ward leaves to cherish her precious memories four sons and one daughter, Charlie (Willard) Ward, Sr., Alexander (Buddy) Ward, Earnest Ward, Barbara Jean Stephens of Thomasville, GA and Alvie (Helen) Ward, Jr., Hartford, CT; grandchildren, Bernard (Yolanda) Anderson, St. Petersburg, FL, Leta (Marvin) Dawson, Thomasville, GA, Carla (Terrill) Perkins, Macon, GA, Chad (Nicole) Ward, Thomasville, GA, Charita Ward, Thomasville, GA, Michael Ward, Anthony Ward of Hartford, CT, Debra (Ervin) Hooker, Boston, GA, Anthony (Linda) Ward, Thomasville, GA, Deryl (Sharron) Ward, Waco, TX, Lashonda (T.J.) Bible, Princeton, TX, Cedric (Naomi) Ward, Albany, GA, Shakindra Ward, Orlando, FL, Trinity Ward, Thomasville, GA; twenty-two great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Sarah King and two childhood cousins Ethel Blake and Rosetta Webster.  She leaves a host of grieving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by husband Alvie Ward, Sr., two brothers, John (Papa Johnny) Hester and Jimmy Hester, one sister, Josephine Lawyer and one daughter, Mary Louise Ward.  Service of celebration will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 110 West Calhoun St., Thomasville, GA.  Rev. Jeremy G. Rich, Pastor.  Elder Jimmy Simmons will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery.  Family and friends are asked to assemble at 232 West Calhoun St. for the processional at 10:00 a.m.  Public viewing will commence at Hadley’s Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013.  Family hour will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, 323 McKinley St., Thomasville, GA. www.hadleysfh.com — Hadley’s Funeral Home
