— School meeting is Thursday

The Grady County School System will be conducting the annual review, evaluation and revision of the Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan and Title 1 Parent Involvement Plan for the 2014-2015 school year from  1 p.m.-6 p.m. Thursday at Vanlandingham Center. All stakeholders such as parents, teachers, principals, administrators and community leaders, may participate. For more information, call Jackie McCurry at 377-3701.

Church to hold  Mission Day

Greater New Corinth M.B. Church is holding its annual Mission Day program at 3 p.m., May 25.  The theme is “The Blessing of Giving.” Pastor Marie Reddick is the speaker. The event is open to the public.

Open house

May 20

The Grady County Virtual Education Program will have an open house at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Vanlandingham Center.  Parents, guardians and educators are invited to attend this event and learn more about Virtual Education in Grady County and enroll in the program for the 2014-2015 school year.  There will also be information on the resources available for Home School families and refreshments will be served.

Early voting ends Friday

Early voting for the state primary ends Friday.  Anyone who is registered and wishes to vote in the election can 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grady County Courthouse. Election day is Tuesday.

Health screening this Saturday

Faith Temple Church,  231 Legion Blvd., is holding a free health screening on Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. The screening, by Archbold Hospital, will provide information about health issues for those who attend. 

Eastside School to hold camp

Registration is under way for Summer Fun Camp at Eastside School June 2 through July 16.  The seven-week program,  conducted by the Grady County Community Education Program, provides childcare daily from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. The program includes breakfast, lunch and snacks, arts and crafts, field trips, swimming, skating and other activities plus involvement in the Roddenbery Library Summer Reading program.
