In addition to this year’s huge lineup of renowned lecturers and special guests, the 25th annual Thomasville Antiques Show will feature New Collectors Night, the Savannah Ramsey Singletary Junior Collectors Event, and appointments for verbal evaluations of personal items by Antiques Roadshow’s Lark Mason and Amanda Everard.
New Collectors Night will be held Saturday 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and will open the antiques showroom to new collectors, featuring music provided by New York City DJ Sinton Vignos, vintage cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres.
New collectors will be inspired to start a collection during this exclusive opportunity to browse the antiques floor, ask questions of dealers, and learn negotiation skills. Tickets to the event cost $45, and cocktail attire is requested.
The Savannah Ramsey Singletary Junior Collectors Event is open to budding collectors ages ten and up, and participants are encouraged to bring their collections with them, regardless of what they collect. The event will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and tickets cost $25. Amanda Everard, an appraiser on PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow” and president of Everard & Company of Savannah, will conduct the class created in memoriam of Brookwood School sophomore Savannah Ramsey Singletary.
Saturday, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. 2 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m., “Antiques Roadshow’s” Lark Mason and Amanda Everard will offer private verbal evaluations of personal items.
Mason is an expert in Asian arts and the president of Lark Mason Associates, of New York, and founder of iGavel.com; Everard is the president of Everard & Company, Auctions and Appraisals, of Savannah.
Verbal evaluations are available by appointment only, and require the purchase of a general admission ticket plus $10 per item.
