Easter Blackmon Bond

Funeral services fro Easter Blackmon Bond, 78, of Cairo, Ga., will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2014, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo. The Rev. Kenneth Cloud and the Rev. Carl Harrell will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo. Active pallbearers will be Maurice Rykard, Mac Rosencrantz, J.L. Rosencrantz, George Thomas, Mark Schafer and Randy Holton. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Bonds was born July 11, 1935, in Colquitt, Ga., to the late Emsley Glass and Annie Lou Lovering Glass. After her retirement from Big Star, Mrs. Bonds managed the Style Shop, which she operated for 13 years. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. People will always remember her kind words, big smile, and infectious laugh that she greeted everyone with. Her later years were devoted to assisting and caring for friends in need. Survivors include step-children and spouses, Ann and Ronnie Crawford of Ashford, Ala., Cynthia and Dan Humphrey of Bainbridge, Ga., Stanley and Judy Blackmon of Cairo, Ga., Bobby and Carolyn Blackmon of Brinson, Ga., Marty and Jennifer Willis of Manassas, VA, Ricky Willis of Pelham, Ga.; grandchildren and spouses, Chris Blackmon, Kim B. and Craig Ernest, Bobby Blackmon, Jr. and Wendy, Will Blackmon, Ryan Blackmon and Jordan, Samantha Blackmon, Angela C. and Greg Brown, Pam C. and Ken Holt, Gary Braswell, Jr. and Jill, Chad Braswell, Dee and Chelsey Humphrey, Casey and Stacey Blackmon, Wesley and Heather Willis, Christie and Nathan Taylor, James Willis, Erin Willis, Jacob Willis; and 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ernest Blackmon and Bill Bond; sisters, Bernice Matthews, Ollie (Jewell) Smith, Emma Holley, Cora Lee Monday, Annie Mae Matthews, Ruth Bailey; and brothers, Curtis Glass and Charlie Glass. Mrs. Bond passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Ga., on Friday, April 4, 2014.
