Brookwood postpones region game vs. Tiftarea

THOMASVILLE —

The Warriors were forced to postpone its hunt for its first region win of the year.

Brookwood’s Tuesday tilt with Tiftarea was postponed 24 hours due to the heavy downpour during the morning wee hours.

Coach Ken Johnson said plans could be made to swap venues should weather woes continue. Should that be the case, he’ll know by breakfast.

Johnson added that the irrigation problems at Brookwood’s baseball field stem from the hill just over the outfield wall, which pours water down into the vicinity.

“Home plate and the mound are fine, but some of the infield, and certainly the outfield, get affected by heavy showers,” Johnson said.

Brookwood was already forced to altogether cancel its Monday game against Turner County due to rain.
