Weather woes continue for Diamond 'Dogs

THOMASVILLE —

Thomasville’s affliction with Mother Nature continued on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs were slated to host Jefferson County in a non-region game, but heavy downpour during the morning hours halted plans.

“Gonna work on water polo,” coach Erik McDougald said via text message.

McDougald couldn’t confirm whether or not Tuesday’s game would be rescheduled or canceled altogether. Jefferson County (Monticello, Fla.) is roughly 25 miles from Thomasville.

The Diamond ‘Dogs resume region play on Thursday against Cook.

These teams last played in a 3-1 decision in favor of the Hornets on March 25.

Thomasville (12-9, 4-5) currently sits on the outside looking in for the final spot in 1-AA, of which the top four teams qualify for the state tournament.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-0 win over Cairo on Monday, which could become their final home game should Tuesday’s tilt with Jefferson be abandoned.

Weather at Cook on Thursday calls for a 10 percent chance of rain in the evening.
