THS soccer squads remain undefeated in 1-AA with Tuesday wins over Berrien

(Continued)

THOMASVILLE —

The girls game went to a much slower pace.

The teams went into halftime tied at zero before Thomasville “settled down,” coach Martha Murray said. “We weren’t really making good decisions with our shots on goal – we should’ve been putting it more in front.

“Nothing up the middle was working, so we moved [the ball] upfield from the side. There were just a lot of good possessions; moving the ball’ finding open players.”

Daniella Pistelli had a pair of goals and Shea Lyons notched the other.

Goalie Amy Latner recorded yet another shutout this season.

“This was the best soccer I’ve seen at Thomasville High School tonight, and I’ve been here more than 15 years,” Murray said.

Both teams now eye the postseason, and should lock up a playoff berth with another win.

Thomasville travels to Fitzgerald on Friday then takes on Berrien again next week.

“It’s always a different story when we hit the road, so we’ll see,” Murray said.
