Dress for the occasion

THOMASVILLE — The Victorian Christmas Festival, a national Top 20 premiere event, will ring in the holiday season in downtown Thomasville on Dec. 13-14 from 6 p.m,-10 p.m..

Everyone is invited to join the celebration and actively experience a bygone era by dressing in Victorian garb each night of the festival.

During Victorian Christmas, the City of Thomasville’s CNS staff will stroll downtown’s brick paved streets and randomly give golden gift certificates for Savannah Moon Bakery & Cafe, a local downtown restaurant, to those wearing Victorian attire.

“Costumed strollers make Victorian Christmas a unique festival,” said Felicia Brannen, Main Street special events coordinator.  “Visitors love to have their photos taken with the costumed strollers, and it really makes for an authentic evening.”

The Office of Main Street and Tourism is currently renting beautiful Victorian costumes to the public on weekdays now through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

See Saturday's edition for more detais.
