Missing girl found

THOMASVILLE — The search for a Thomas County teenager missing for a month ended Wednesday afternoon.

The 16-year-old female was found around 6 p.m. at a residence on U.S. 19 South, said Lt. Steve Jones, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office public information officer.

“She appears to be OK,” Jones said. “She is being interviewed at this time by the sheriff’s office.”

The girl had been missing since May 10.

Yesterday, law enforcement officials received information and tips that led them in the right direction to track her down, Jones said.

“We’ve got to contact her relatives and let them know,” he said. “Then, we’ll discuss whether any charges will be filed against anyone involved in the case.”
