TU holds caregiving conference

THOMASVILLE — More than 75 people attended the Surviving Caregiving Conference for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias held Monday in the Campus Center on the Main Campus of Thomas University.

During the conference, a panel of speakers talked about their personal experiences with loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

As part of the event, more than 30 copies of the book The 36 Hour Day were distributed. More will be purchased and be distributed to participants later. The conference was organized by Betty Sawyer, Director of Social Services at Plantation Manor in Thomasville and Dr. Steve DePaola, TU associate professor of Psychology.

Sponsors included Thomas University and the Jim Neil Alzheimer’s Memory Walk.
