Warrants issued for local minister

THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville regional office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued warrants Wednesday for the pastor of a Thomasville church.

The minister, Kevin Harrison Jr., a Hahira resident, was to surrender at the Thomas County Jail Wednesday morning.

“We feel like he’s on the run,” said Steve Turner, special agent in charge the Thomasville GBI office.

Harris is pastor at Life, Power and Praise Church, 2717 Short Broad St.

Following a joint investigation by the GBI and Thomasville Police Department, Harrison will be charged with child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Turner said the incidents have taken place during the past two to three years and involved children in Harrison’s church.

Anyone knowing Harrison’s whereabouts is asked to call the GBI at (229) 225-4090, Thomasville Police Department or the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
