Boston and Thomasville teens are charged with first-degree arson and aggravated assault in a Monday fire at a Boston mobile home.
A 15-year-old Boston male and Cleveland Bernard Bell, 18, 750 E. Pine Tree Blvd., were charged after an investigation showed the blaze was intentionally set.
More charges could be forthcoming, pending further investigation by the state fire marshal’s office, the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office and Jeff Hundley, arson investigator for Thomasville Fire Rescue and the Thomas County Fire Department.
A person who was nearby saw the fire at the 537 Roundtree St. mobile home about 3 p.m., grabbed a garden hose and had extinguished much of the blaze when Boston police and firefighters arrived.
Hundley said an accelerant was used to start the fire on the exterior of the mobile home, but declined to name the substance.
