THOMASVILLE — Two men were charged with animal cruelty Sunday after a citizen notified police about a dog fight.

Officers responded about noon Sunday to the intersection of Jerger and Pine streets and found two dogs involved in a fight, said Lt. Eric Hampton, Thomas-ville Police Department public information officer.

Men at the site fled. Two were caught and arrested.

The suspects, Robert Wright, 18, 809 N. Oak St., and Jesse Henderson, 20, 412 W. Calhoun St., are charged with animal cruelty and obstructing police.

“The investigation is ongoing as police continue attempts to identify the other suspects involved in this crime,” Hampton said.
