Elves work to make Pebble Hill festive

Staff report

THOMASVILLE — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Pebble Hill Plantation.

Hazel Courtney, holiday decorator and member of the plantation’s staff of docents, is designing a Christmas wonderland for visitors to enjoy.

The entire museum staff will be busier than Santa’s elves bringing Hazel’s vision to completion by Nov. 30.

Outside across the property and inside the Main House the beauty of Pebble Hill during the holiday season is a sight to behold.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, the whole family can come out to marvel at the decorations, visit with Santa, take a hayride, tour the Main House, stump the artist and enjoy many other activities.

There will be crafts for making, stories for hearing and music for enjoying. As a special treat, visitors will be admitted to Pebble Hill for $20 per carload.

Bring the children, the grandparents, the cousins and friends, your scout troop, soccer team, neighborhood club or Sunday school class; invite your favorite friends to share the holiday from 4 until 9 p.m. A light, kid friendly supper may be purchased.
