THOMASVILLE — Drug agents knew a suspect kept illegal drugs in a bathroom and approached the situation to prevent flushing of the evidence.

Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents set up surveillance on the 27 Bay Drive residence of Alfred Bernard Leaks, 31, having received a tip that Leaks kept crack cocaine in the bathroom.

“We didn’t want him to be able to go to the bathroom and flush the cocaine,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice division.

Leaks had been arrested before on drug charges.

Armed with a search warrant, agents wanted to wait until Leaks went outside the residence.

The suspects eventually went outdoors, and officers showed him the search warrant.

In the bathroom near the toilet, officers found several large pieces of crack cocaine.

Leaks is charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute.

More than $1,300 was seized from the suspect.
