Guilty plea entered in federal court

Staff report

THOMASVILLE — A 46-year-old Thomasville man entered a guilty plea in federal court to a drug offense.

Marion Simon, 46, 313 Allen St., entered a guilty plea to federal cocaine charges.

Simon was arrested by the Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division on Oct. 27, 2011, and charged with trafficking in cocaine.

“It was around 10 ounces of cocaine, a combination of crack and powder cocaine,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice commander.

“He will be sentenced in June in Valdosta,” Lee added.

Several narcotics agents put Simon’s mobile home on U.S. 19 North under surveillance. Officers watched him leave, knowing he was taking cocaine to a residence on Ga. 202.

Simon was stopped, and agents found a plastic bag containing the cocaine in the vehicle he was driving.
