Zebulon to hold annual auction, Super Bowl Party

CAIRO — Cairo’s Historic Zebulon Theatre is hosting its second annual “Jewels and Jeans” benefit auction on Saturday at 6 p.m. and a Super Bowl XLVIII Party on Sunday at game time.

The benefit will have many items on silent and live auction. Some of the items include a red velvet cake, an oil change, weekend trip to Lake Seminole, massages, paintings and autographed photos from Lizard Lick Towing.

Patrons will have a chance to buy items while raising money for the Zebulon’s Digital Conversion Fund. There are around 65 items that will be auctioned on Saturday night.

In addition to the auction, there will be raffles. Participants can buy tickets for $50 at a chance to win two prizes — a Bad Boy 4x4 Golf Cart and a pair of three-quarter carat certified diamond earrings.

Cairo’s Wine Rack has donated a mystery box. No one knows the contents of the box — except for the owner of the Wine Rack.

The benefit was also given a last minute donation of a gas grill by Johnny and Joanne Tuggle, owners at Reality Mart in Cairo.

These items will also be raffled on Saturday night, with tickets being available when the doors open. Tickets are 1 for $10 or three for $20.

Raffle tickets for the golf cart and diamond earrings can be purchased now by calling fundraiser coordinator, Robert Dykes at (229) 378-7405 or Candace Dickerson at (229) 977-3846.

On top of the auction benefit, there will be a Super Bowl XLVIII Party at the Zebulon Theatre on Sunday.

Admission to the “Jewels and Jeans” auction and Super Bowl Party are free to the public. There will be finger foods and desserts, also free of charge at the auction.
