Belk’s Spring Charity Sale on Saturday, May 3, will benefit local charity organizations throughout the company’s 16-state market area. The Thomasville Belk store will be supporting the United Way of Thomas County and its 18 local agencies.
In return for a $5 donation, customers will receive a ticket admitting them to the Charity Sale from 6a.m to 10 a.m, entitling them to merchandise discounts ranging from 20 to 70 percent off of purchases throughout the store(excluding cosmetics and fragrances). Customers also receive $5 off their first purchase as Belk covers the cost of the ticket. And, the first 100 customers at the store will receive free Belk gift cards ranging from $5 to $100, and a chance to win one of three $1,000 Belk gift cards awarded company-wide.
One hundred percent of the ticket sale proceeds go directly to the local United Way.
“We are always proud to support United Way and its participating agencies. I invite our customers and everyone in the community to purchase a ticket and support the United Way. If you cannot show up on Saturday morning, shop now. The store will reserve your purchases, have them rung up for you and ready for pick-up at a later date. For those who believe that the best charity support is local support, this is the time to have their small contribution to the United Way make a great difference in the lives of so many people directly in our own community,” said Ronnie Parker, Belk store manager.
Parker added, “While I can not list the designer names in the paper, I can share that everyone’s favorite clothing labels will be offered at extra special savings. We are really notching up the event and want to see the community participating to help us raise a record amount for the United Way.”
Rebecca Cannady, executive director of the Thomas County United Way, said that the Belk Charity event “has become an important piece in our annual fund-raising drive. The Thomasville Belk store has stood with us as a key partner in our fundraising and contributes significant dollars to United Way.
Tickets are currently being sold by the United Way, its agencies and may be purchased at the Thomasville Belk store.
