Shaw Center receives $50,000 grant

Staff report

THOMASVILLE — Peach State Health Plan recently awarded a $50,000 grant to The Shaw Center for Women’s Health, one of Peach State’s OB/GYN providers, in an effort to improve access to high-risk OB/GYN care for local residents. The Shaw Center, which sees a large number of high-risk pregnancies within its Medicaid population, will use the grant to defray the cost of the salary for a midwife or case manager for the center.

“We are proud to award this much needed grant to The Shaw Center for Women’s Health. Peach State Health Care is committed to working with our providers in communities around the state to ensure access to quality healthcare,” said Patrick Healy, President and CEO, Peach State Health Plan.
