THOMASVILLE — Supporters of the Thomasville Music & Drama Troupe are planning a party with a purpose, the thrd annual Diner a la Troupe fundraising gala to benefit the youth performing arts program.

On Saturday, troupe volunteers are hosting a Big Time, Big Top party extraordinaire to celebrate a milestone anniversary, explained event chairman Sugar Blount.

“This is the third year of Diner a la Troupe, our gala benefit that provides much needed support for the Thomasville Music & Drama Troupe, and since this is the 40th anniversary performance season, we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate 40 fabulous years,” Blount said.

Blount said this year's circus-themed gala provides an opportunity to do some unique things and have some special entertainment surprises. The troupe’s own student performers will be spotlighted, but the fundraiser also features special cirque performers and carnival games, “so it’s going to be a really fun evening.  And, as always, the food will be fabulous — a sumptuous cocktail buffet — so this is an event not to be missed,” the chairman added.
