Lindsey Holleger, a senior and honor student at Brookwood School in Thomasville, is no stranger to competition or to winning medals. This year, however, was the culmination of her hard work and training when she won the Junior Individual Gold Medal in Dressage at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships, the premier competition for riders 14-21 years old in North America.
Riding her Trakehner gelding Friedensfurst, the horse her mother Dayle Holleger referred to a year ago as “the horse of a lifetime for her,” Holleger won a spot on the U.S. Dressage Federation’s Region 3 team (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee), then brought the gold home from the NAJYRC with a stunning dressage performance.
The NAJYRC is the only Fédération Equestre Internationale championship held annually on this continent.
