A two-time Democratic Party candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives, a Thomasville resident, was charged Tuesday with creating a disturbance.
Police responded about 11:40 a.m. to a fight at 502 E. Clay St.
A resident told police Sarah Haley Shank went to the apartment earlier Tuesday and knocked on the door.
“When the door was opened, Shank was squatted by the door,” said Lt. Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department public information officer. “She pushed the resident who opened the door and entered the apartment, attacking another resident inside.”
Hampton said Shank grabbed the resident by the hair and refused to leave until 911 was being called.
“The resident who was attacked said she had received a text message from Shank saying she was coming to the residence to fight her,” Hampton said.
