Pebble Hill to display watercolor paintings

Staff report

THOMASVILLE — “South Georgia, North Florida Reflections,” a beautiful exhibit of watercolor paintings by four of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society’s most accomplished artists, opens at Pebble Hill. The artists include Nancy Banks, Rosemary Ferguson, Nina Freeman and Esther Tubbs.  You are invited to the opening on Feb. 17 from 5 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. in the Galleries at Pebble Hill, Main House.  he opening is free to the public. The exhibit will remain open, during regular PHP hours, through March 31.

The exhibit title, “South Georgia, North Florida Reflections,” is exceedingly appropriate as the work is more than just simple realistic representation of the area’s lovely landscape.  These paintings express the reactions of four very different artists as they reflect on their visually stimulating surroundings.  The excitement captured within these images is the result of each artist’s sheer joy found in painting, sensitivity to subject matter, and profound creativity.

Nancy Banks lives in Tallahassee and is a member of the Watercolor Society.
