Ernest ‘Buddy’ F. Wahl Jr.
Memorial services for Ernest F. Wahl, Jr. (Buddy), 74, of Thomasville, are at 10 a.m., Monday, May 12 2008, at the Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel in Thomasville. Mr. Wahl died Friday, May 2. Born Aug. 16, 1933, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Dr. Ernest F. Wahl Sr. and Marjorie Martin-Wahl. He attended Thomasville City Schools, graduated from Darton Prep School and graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., with a degree in economics. Mr. Wahl was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a forrester from the Balfour Lumber Company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville but he also attended Merrillville Baptist Church also in Thomasville. Survivors include his wife, Anne Strickland Wahl of Thomasville; nephews, Marty Stipe and wife, Marianne of Salem, Ore., Tom Stipe and wife, Beth of Pendleton, S.C.; brother-in-law Richard Stipe of Orlando. Fla.; stepchildren Melissa Clanton and husband Michael, Frank Barnes and wife Pam, Rachel Brinson, and Laura Phillips all of Merrillville; grandchildren Leah, Chad and Jenna Clanton, Avery and Franki Barnes, and Taylor and Codee Brinson who knew him as Papa Buddy . He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Wahl Stipe. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice and Palliatine Care Center Inc. P.O. Box 926, 301 E.S creven St., Quitman, Ga. 31643.
