Robert ‘Booster’ Knight



Services for Robert “Booster” Knight, 80, 1403 Old Hwy. 179 South, Whigham, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church in Reno. Elder Larry Brown will officiate and interment is in Walden Cemetery in Whigham. Active pallbearers are Joe Gibbs, Herman L. Garland, Alvin Sherman, Josephus Borden, Titus Butler and Patrick Allen. Born Feb. 22, 1928, in Grady County to Charlie and Mable Knight (both deceased), Mr. Knight was a life-long resident of the area. He married Mandy R. Bush. Mr. Knight attended Grady County schools. He was a farmer and member of St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Knight died May 9, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness. Survivors include his wife; sons, Robert (Joyce) Knight of Reno, Randy (Michelle) Knight of Bainbridge and Michael (Priscilla) Knight of Cairo; daughters, Patricia (Leon) Ross of Bainbridge, Peggy Sherman of Whigham, Ramona (George) Brown of Brandon, Fla., Linda Gordon of Whigham, Tammy Harrell of Whigham, Gloria (Ben) Smith of Cairo, Tracy Cowart of Red Wood City, Calif. and Melissa (Jimmy) McClendon of Whigham; sister, Lillie Borden of Whigham; aunts, Lois Johnson of Reno and Anna B. Johnson of Reno; sisters-in-law, Essie M. Allen of Tallahassee, Fla., Bertha Johnson of Attapulgus, Doris Broxey of Sebring, Fla., and Dorothy Butler of Whigham; and, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. — Cloud & Son Funeral Home
