Jimmie Weaver



Services for Jimmie Weaver are at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009, at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Baconton. The Rev. James Edwards will officiate and interment is in the church cemetery. Mr. Weaver was born March 29, 1933, to the late Jim and Gertrude Williams in Mitchell County. He lost his biological parents at a young age and later was adopted by the late I’John and Annie Kate Weaver. At a later age, he joined New Salem Missionary Baptist Church that was under the leadership of the Rev. J.D. Bolden, but declining health kept him from attending service regularly. On Oct. 2, 1954, he married Patsy Ree Washington. The were married for 54 beautiful years. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Weaver; daughter, Priscilla Weaver; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Lewis Smith; five grandchildren, Ladarrien Weaver, Fredreeca Cooper, Devarus Lane, Ambraja Cooper, Deontae Weaver; a brother, Eddie Weaver of Pelham; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosetta Ervin; and a brother, Rosevelt Weaver. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:15 p.m., today at 108 Mulberry St. for the procession to Baconton. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
