Gwendolyn Sue Ellis Wilson



Services for Gwendolyn Sue Ellis Wilson, 65, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m,, Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lee Waller will officiate, and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Duran Sadler, Wally Croley, Chuck Maxwell, Richard Maxwell, Ricky Sanders and Vaughn Stewart. Mrs. Wilson died June 25, 2008, at her home at Plantation Manor. Born February 11, 1943, in Thomasville, she was a daughter of the late Owen M. and Jewell Mae Ellis Sr. She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1962, and the next year on Nov. 16, 1963, she married her sweetheart of 40 years, Jerry L. Wilson, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2004. Jerry and Sue loved spending time with their family and friends and enjoyed taking family vacations at the Florida beaches and were members of Dawson Street Baptist Church. She worked outside of the home for only a short time when she decided that she wanted to be at home with her children instead and be a loving and devoted mother to them. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee and Troy Sadler of Boston; son, Marty Wilson, of Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Alison Wilson of Boston; grandchildren, Heather and Wally Croley of Ochlocknee, Duran Sadler of Thomasville, Hunter and Ashlyn Wilson of Boston; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Garyn and Traye Croley of Ochlocknee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Lamb) and Glen Alred of Atlanta, Virginia (Lamb) and Robert Bailey of Atlanta, Owen (Bubba) M and Jo Ellis Jr. of Colorado; sister-in-law, Juanita Sparks of Thomasville; sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Norman Sawyer of Brinson; sister, Jewell Knight of Mineral Wills, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Charlotte Wilson of Cairo, Larry and Lois Wilson of Albany; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, Ga. 31792. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
