Services for James Walden are at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2008, at St. Thomas AME Church in Thomasville. Mr. Walden died July 1 in Atlanta. Born Feb. 22, 1941, in Thomas County, he was a son of Anna Walden and the late Otis Walden Sr. He grew up in Thomas County and attended Greenwood Schools. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined New Beulah P.B. Church. He was a supervisor for many years at Sunnyland Packing Company. Survivors include his mother, Anna Walden; his wife, Gloria Walden; daughters, Abigail Stewart, Toni Walden both of Thomasville, Sheryl (Jimmy) Thurman, Angela (Gregory) Harris all of Atlanta; son, James (Joann) Walden of Atlanta; brothers, Willie Walden, Charles Walden, Floyd Walden, Thomas Walden all of Thomasville, Orlando Presha of Thomasville; sisters, Louise (Samuel) Ivey, Mary (James) Thomas, Diangela Walden all of Thomasville, Anna B. Tucker of Bowie, Md.; brother-in-law, Charles (Maggie) Ivey; sister-in-law, Bertha Walden of Thomasville; grandsons, Rosoe Clark, Kenneth Wynn of Thomasville, Lavoris Harris, Jesiah Harris, Sedarian Hudson, Freddie Sherman, Thairon Walden all of Atlanta; granddaughters, Shakita Wynn, Shaniya Anderson of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Jarquai Clark, Ra’carra Clark, Ra’ciyia Clark all of Thomasville; uncle, William Walden of Thomasville; aunts, Georgia Revels of Thomasville, Julia Smith, Annie Mae Hunter both of Decatur; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The viewing is from 2 to 8:30 p.m., today and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home and from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church. The family will assemble at 2:15 p.m., Saturday at 501 E. Monroe St. for the procession. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
